Mom was born in Brandon, Manitoba on October 4, 1943. She was the oldest of five children born to Alex and Agnes Dickson of Carberry, Manitoba. In her younger years mom participated in sports, concerts and school activities. She was a member of the Knox-Zion Presbyterian Church Children's groups and completed the CGIT program. After graduating from high school in Carberry, Mom married Ray Calvert of Portage la Prairie on November 4th, 1961. Portage became her home where together they raised their two sons Randy and Cameron.

Dianne was pre-deceased by her father Alex (1985), sister Joan (1989) and mother Agnes (2010) and leaves behind, husband Ray, son Randy (Angela), grandchildren Christopher, Breanne and Jordan, and her son Cameron. Mom is survived by her sister Linda Shewfelt (Ralph), brother Gary Dickson (Kristjana), and sister Janice Hamm (Murray). She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Mom worked numerous jobs throughout her life. In the 60's she worked at the Bank of Montreal in Carberry and Portage. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Canada Farm Labor Pool. After the office closed, she worked for several years at Delta Waterfowl Station. Following Mom's retirement she began working part time at Manitoba Agriculture, Canada Farm Credit Corporation and at the time of her passing, Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation.

Mom was a very active woman and she was known to many who frequent the walking paths along Crescent Lake where you could find her walking briskly or biking the path. She also enjoyed her exercise classes at the gym where her energy and enthusiasm was an inspiration to others.

Mom was an avid traveler and along with Dad, travelled to many areas of the world. They enjoyed many trips and cruises together. She enjoyed her computer and spent many hours researching her next trip down to its finest detail. She was planning a trip this September that involved a cruise to Iceland and was very excited about it.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at the Portage General Hospital for their care and compassion given to mom during this difficult time.
