Diane Hudson

On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, Diane Beatrice Hudson, mother, sister and aunt, left for the spirit world at the age of 68 years.

Diane will forever be remembered and missed by her son, Sonny and daughter Angel, by her sisters, Gerri Thunderbirdsky, Rose Prince and Loretta Meeches (Albert). Diane will also be remembered and missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Diane was predeceased by her husband Bill, mother Enna, father George, sisters Marlene and Lois and brothers Gerald, Garry, Alfred and Gilbert.

Diane spent her early years in Long Plain and later moved to Winnipeg. She worked a number of years at Richlieu Sportswear. It was in Winnipeg that she met Bill Hudson and they married in 1985.

Bill and Diane moved to Long Plain where Bill was a custodial engineer at Long Plain School and then later at the Provincial Building in Portage la Prairie.  Diane was a full-time mother and foster mother before working at the Long Plain School as an Educational Assistant.  She spoke often of her students and was always very proud of their accomplishments. Her patience and compassion will be missed by all the students and staff.

Diane will always be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, sarcasm and never-ending generosity.

A traditional wake and funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 3 and Monday, November 4 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge.

A very special thank you to the Long Plain Health staff, Long Plain NIHB staff, Portage Ambulance paramedics, Dr Kinnear, Dr Quesada and Dr Price, Portage Hospital nurses and Cancer Care for their excellent care.
