Denis Anthony Joseph (aka "Jock") Connolly

With family at his side, Denis "Jock" Connolly passed away on February 11, 2015 in the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 86 years.

Denis was predeceased by his wife Euegenie "Jean" Connolly (nee Cross), and their sons Michael Patrick Connolly of Calgary, Alberta and Kevin Joseph Connolly of Dundas, Ontario.

Left to cherish his memory is daughter Elizabeth Anne "Sandy" and Alex Keachie of Carberry; daughter Denise "Danyse" Connolly of Portage la Prairie; son Dr. Wm. Anthony and Dyan Connolly of Missouri; brother Kevin and Ruth Connolly, of New South Wales, Australia; seven grandchildren: Andrew Keachie and Sarrah Broad, Morgan Keachie, Jennifer Connolly, Michael Jr. and Crystal Connolly, Stephanie Connolly, Erika Connolly and Courtney Connolly; three great grandchildren: Tyler Connolly, Caitlyn Connolly and John Michael Connolly; special family member Vicki Hartley of Ontario; sister-in-law Irene and Paul Burnet of Illinois; cherished nieces, nephews and family in Scotland, South Africa and many, many friends throughout Canada.

A child born in one of the world's greatest cities, London, between the Wars to Irish-Scottish parents he was raised in Scotland; traveled throughout Britain and Europe by foot, by bicycle, by motorbike and automobile; joined the Royal Air Force and raised a large and happy family taking them to all the corners of Europe; immigrated to Canada in 1956 with the Royal Canadian Air Force and called many parts of his adopted country home, before finding a permanent one in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, where he was an active member of the community, a veteran, and a man blessed.

A private family service is to be held.
