Denis William Sproat-Mazurat

After a long and courageous battle with cancer with his mom and dad at his side on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 Denis “Deni” Sproat-Mazurat passed away at Boundary Trails Health Centre.

Deni will leave his only daughter Dusty-Ann Mazurat; parents Debbie and Tom Gibson; brother Traven and sister Talisha; also his brother Terry (Lara-Lee) Remple and their children Sappyre, Zeyne, Zyla.  Deni has over 100 cousins that he leaves behind, he will be missed by them as well as his aunts and uncles.

Deni will be met at heaven’s gate by his baby sister Dusty Rosine; Gramma’s and Grampa’s Betty and Bill Sproat, Tena and Bill Mazurat and Barbara Gibson; as well as by aunties Irma, Caroline, Bonnie, Diane, and Lyn; uncles Billy, Mike, Elmer and Allan.  His faithful dog Hobo will also be there to greet him.

Deni was a very loving person, he enjoyed his family and close friends.  He loved to tease and always got enjoyment out of giving the kids a hard time.  Beside the birth of Dusty-Ann, Deni was so excited when he got to be a big brother to Traven and Talisha.  He liked to put lodel cars together and collect Superman memorabilia.  Deni’s past interests include coaching Special Olympics or helping anyone who asked.  In his youth he played hockey, broomball and was in the air cadets.

Deni your pain is over and you will always be remembered for the loving and giving person you were, FLY HIGH SUPERMAN.

Funeral Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm, with viewing prior to service.  A private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Deni’s memory to Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation – Palliative Care, Box 2000 Station Main Winkler, MB R6W 1H8 or Kidney Foundation of Canada, MB Branch, Unit 1-452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3Y 1G4.
