Delphis "Del" Rodney Ducharme

A Celebration of Del’s Life will take place at the St. Ambroise Cemetery on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm, followed by a light lunch at the St. Ambroise Beach.

With his love by his side, Delfis Rodney Ducharme, peacefully passed on March 18, 2024 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 65 years. 

Predeceased by his parents Ted & Edna Ducharme, sister Jeannette Adams, brother Wesley, grandson Zac Ducharme, niece Holly Ducharme. 

Del leaves to mourn his passing, partner-in-life Cheryl Kocis, sons; Tyson, Alan (Christina), stepsons; Larry and Nathan, siblings; Ray, Sterling (Lucille), Jason (Deanna), Joanne, grand-daughters; Emy, Peyton, Amanda (Emma), Jaidyn (Niall), Zoe (Carter), godchild Janine, plus numerous nephews and nieces. 

Del was born in Portage la Prairie on April 29, 1958. He was raised and received his education in St. Ambroise, MB. Del’s passion was his work, he loved working with heavy equipment and doing road construction. He enjoyed going on snow removal, he would clap his hands and say he was going out to play in the “white gold”. Del retired after 44 years of employment with Mulder Construction and Maple Leaf Construction. 

Del’s interests were ice-fishing, hunting duck and geese, barbequing and golf. He played hockey when he was younger and enjoyed watching hockey later in life. 

He was such a happy go lucky guy who loved to tell jokes and would laugh right along with you. He was also a great story teller, made many friends throughout his lifetime and remembered each and everyone of them. 

The family deeply appreciated the care, compassion and kindness provided to Del by the staff at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg.

Funeral Mass was held on March 23, 2024 at St. Ambroise Roman Catholic Church, St. Ambroise, MB. A Celebration of Del’s Life will take place at the St. Ambroise Cemetery on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm, followed by a light lunch at the St. Ambroise Beach.
