Daniel Paul Borden

Daniel Paul Borden, 70, of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. A devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather (“yaya”), and friend, Daniel will be remembered for his boundless generosity, unwavering dedication to his faith, self-proclaimed eccentric personality, and fiery red hair.

Born on October 16, 1954, in Winnipeg, Manitoba to David and Elsie Boroditsky, Daniel was the youngest of four brothers. While his career changed throughout his life, Daniel’s passion for music and spreading God’s word never wavered. He brought many people together to celebrate and teach about Messianic Jewish traditions, and made many connections within the Jewish and Christian communities throughout his lifetime.

Daniel is survived by his children Jason, Joshua, and Chelsea (Christopher), and his granddaughters Lily and Adara, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his brothers Richard (Diane), Jack (Jennifer), and Carey (Harriet), as well as many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Rhonda McRorie, who passed away in 2016.

A private family burial has taken place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Portage la Prairie. A Celebration of Life to honour Daniel will be held at Church of the Living Hope, 235 Enniskillen Avenue, Winnipeg, on May 24, 2025 at 2 PM. A reception will follow in the church banquet hall where friends and family are invited to share their stories and memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Union Gospel Mission, an organization Daniel volunteered at and supported for many years.

Daniel was the embodiment of a free spirit. May his memory forever be a blessing to those who knew him.
