Clifford Thomson

Peacefully on December 14, 2022, Clifford Thomson passed away in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 78 years.

George Clifford Ernie Thomson was born in Winnipeg on September 12, 1944 to Dorothy Thomson and William Thomson. He spent his younger years growing up with family in areas of Northern Manitoba including Flin Flon, Lynn Lake, Morris and many other places. He was a proud father to his son Clifford Junior (Dutchie), and made a connection with his daughter Margaret Marin later in his life.

He spent time growing up with his multiple cousins and his sister Terry Peddigrew being a young wild man in his younger years. He was full of life and adventure; he was a natural gypsy and wandered looking for the next big adventure.

He spent the last part of his life in Winnipeg with his son Cliff Junior (Dutchie). He enjoyed being with his grandkids and his many friends, sharing stories and having small visits. He was a man of few words, but loved to joke, tease, and do many pranks on people he liked. He was a man who enjoyed simple things such as playing cards and the jokes played on each other, the simple things made him happy.

His life was not easy, but he enjoyed the outdoors and the adventures and stories they brought. He would enjoy sitting and people watching with his cousin Ervin Rondeau and tease their friends and family, they were 2 peas in a pod.

Due to Clifford being an adventurous gypsy, explaining his journey through his life in one sitting would be difficult as he spent much of his time travelling and spending time with friends and family. The people who have passed before him would have the amazing stories as some of us here can remember.

He will be sadly missed by his son Cliff (Rhonda), daughter Maggie Marin, sister Terry Peddigrew (Todd and Jeff), grandkids Stephanie, Dylan, Sabrina and Chevy, great grandkids Dominic, Chasity, Kylie and Jayda-Jada, and many cousins and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents Dorothy and William Thomson, all grandparents and his granddaughter Acelynn.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12:00 noon at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Lawler, Todd Davies, Luke Catcheway, Ellis Catcheway, Kevin Catcheway and Dylan Catcheway with the honorary pallbearer his other pea to his pod; Ervin Rondeau.
