Peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 Clifford Catcheway went on to be with the Lord at the age of 69 years at the Portage District General Hospital.

Clifford was predeceased by his parents John and Cecile Catcheway; sisters Ethel Rose Catcheway, Doris Catcheway, Annette Sanderson and Linda Chartrand; nieces Tammy Chartrand and Angel McIvor.  Clifford leaves to mourn his brothers Walter (Brenda) Catcheway and Joseph Catcheway; sisters Mary (Percy) Gabriel, Grace Catcheway and Norma (Conrad) Gabriel; brother-in-law Carl Sanderson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clifford was born and raised in Skownan First Nation where he was a trapper and fishermen’s helper.  He moved to Portage la Prairie and worked at various farms in the surrounding area.  He loved playing the guitar and singing gospel songs.  Clifford would visit churches in town and whenever he was giving the opportunity he would sing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Price for the excellent care he had given to Clifford.

A wake service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 6 pm at Portage Evangelical Church, 72 3 St NE, Portage la Prairie, MB.  Funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2017 beginning at 11 am at Portage Evangelical Church led by Conrad Gabriel with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
