With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Clements Longclaws on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Douglas Campbell Lodge. Clements passed away at the age of 67 years.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Jessie Longclaws and his siblings Walter Longclaws, Phillip Longclaws, Johnny Longclaws, Phyllis Longclaws, Lillian (Roulette), and Mary Ann (Catagas).
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Vivian Longclaws; his children Clements Jr. (Ellen) Longclaws, Christopher (Belinda) Longclaws, Francis Longclaws, Celia (Trent) Blackbird, Carolyn (Keith) Longclaws, Kenneth (Catherine) Longclaws, William Longclaws, Michael (Lena) Longclaws; his grandson he raised Fredrick Clements Longclaws; his grandchildren Vanity, Pebbles, Sebastian, Keegan, Sara, Kyle, Carl, Shianna, Aimerie, Dakota, Sabrina, Codents, Samantha, Clifton, Mythious, Derek, Jamie, Jessie, Nicole, Christopher, Nicholas, Phoenix, Alexander, Brendan, Alyssa, Kelsey, Chelsey, Fred, Katelyn, Wyatt, Laci, Gerri, Darnell, Angelina, Austin and Cassidy and great grandchildren Bridget, Simon, Riel, Payton, Shawn and Patience; siblings Josephine Longclaws, Shirley (Dean) Longclaws and James Longclaws; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A man who taught us all how important family is... how deeply love can connect us... one generation to another.
Clements was a loving husband, loving father of eight, caring grandfather of 35 grandchildren and a great grandfather of 6 great grandchildren. He taught many of his family and peers. Clements worked as a carpenter on Long Plain Reserve in his early years and taught many hunting skills. He at most times would have a smile on his face, yet stubborn at times. Clements was all about laughing and teasing. He was known as the heart of his house and will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.
Wake will be held on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge beginning at 5:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm also at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge.
The Pallbearers will be Robert Catagas, Christopher Jr. Longclaws, Clinton Longclaws, Edward Longclaws, Reginald Roulette and Joe Shorting.
The Honourary Pallbearers will be Fredrick Longclaws and Darnell Beaulieu.Clements will be buried in the Long Plain Cemetery.
