Charles "Chester" Donavon Fraser
1929-2014
We regret to announce the sudden passing of Chester Fraser on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his home at the age of 84 years.
Chester leaves behind his wife Carol; children Lisa (Terry) Swidnicki, Randy (Linda) Fraser and Darren (Janine) Fraser; grandchildren Megan, Ryan (Mireya) and Kevin Swidnicki, Kailee and Marisa Fraser; sister Doreen Dow; sister-in-law Iris Carman and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Kathleen Fraser; sister Jean (Glen) Peterson; father and mother-in-law George and Una Carman and brother-in-law Doug Dow.
Chester was a lifelong farmer and was proud of being involved in the Fraser Century Farm and was an active part of the annual harvest until his passing. In his early years he was a commercial fisherman in the winters and later worked at Southport. Chester was an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed following the NHL, CFL and curling. He played hockey and baseball in his younger years and later he enjoyed playing golf and curling. Chester took great enjoyment in watching his grandchildren play various sports.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel led by Rev. Don McIntyre. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
