Cecil Wayne Pruden

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cecil Wayne Pruden on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 in Winkler, Manitoba at the age of 74 with family by his side.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Jeanette Pruden (McLeod) of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, children Marcel Pruden with wife Dana, Jolene Pruden, Robin Pruden with fiancé Jeff (15/2) Main, grandchildren Crystal, Charissa, Kale, Kolton, great granddaughter Abagail and special great great niece Azyrah, as well as extended family including his children’s friends who considered him a father.

Predeceased by parents Vida and James {Jim} Pruden, siblings Alec (Alice), Billy, Ida (Charlie), Elsie (Bill) and Irvin. Surviving siblings Doreen (Tom), and Jimmy (Florence). Every Godchild, niece, nephew, cousin, friend and a big thanks to Cec’s crib partner Lindsay McLeod for the visits to Cec. A huge thank you to staff at Salem Home in Winkler for the care and support the past couple months.

Cecil (papa) had a very special bond with his grandchildren. He loved being outdoors and taking his grandchildren and their cousins on many adventures. He made sure his wife and children felt loved in every aspect, and he cherished every moment with anyone he came in contact with. He loved having conversations with people and joking around. His hobbies were playing the guitar and singing with Jeanette, playing hockey in his youth, working outside and spending time with family and friends.

Cecil’s family will celebrate his life privately.
