Cecil Prince

It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Cecil Prince on February 19, 2024, at the age of 59 years old.

Cecil is survived by his brothers Marshall (Margaret) Edward, Sisters Shazia, Glenda, Julie and auntie Mary and Uncle James and nieces and nephews Liane (Robert) Carla (Jc) Kerri (Jamie) Troy, Junior, Gwendolyn, Shantel, Kellyjo, Jesse, Irene and Ila, and many cousins and relatives. Cecil was predeceased by his daughter Christina, father Darby St. Paul, mother Marquerite Prince, grandmothers Sara Roulette and Kathleen Francis, grandfathers Mike (Fish) Lavasseur and Norman Francis, auntie Bessie, and uncles Walter and Percy.

Cecil was born on March 27th, 1964, in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Cecil spent some of his life living in Sperling, Manitoba. He had worked various jobs within the community and volunteered at community events. Cecil was a very respectful, loving and giving person. Cecil was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family very much and he adored his nieces and nephews. Cecil lived life to the fullest as he made his way around Manitoba to go and visit family and friends. Cecil had a passion for artistry, loved to draw, sketch portraits of people, especially his family. He was also a tattoo artist and loved to do carpentry work. Cecil adored life and anything that was given to him and was always willing to give a helping hand.

Wake will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge beginning at 4:00 pm.  Feast & Ceremony will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge at 12:00 noon. 

We would like to thank the Francis family, Chief and Council, McKenzies Funeral home, fire keepers and to all who donated and visited.
