Cecil Maclon Johnson

Peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2011, Cecil Johnson passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 86 years. He was born April 27, 1925 the only child of James and Mildred Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 60 years; son Wayne; daughter Donna (Mitch) Cook of Lethbridge, AB; grandsons Chad (Tatianna) of Coaldale, AB, Jason (Jody) of Edmonton, AB; sisters-in-law Mary McKenzie and Gladys Nichol, aunt Lexie Buechler and several nieces and nephews. Cecil was predeceased by his parents, Jim (Margaret) Cook, Johnny (Jessie) McCartney, Andrew (Lillian) Gourley, David (Mary) Gourley, Neil McKenzie and Glen Nichol

Cecil drove Texaco fuel truck for 14 years, also the bus for Webb's Buslines. After that he was the custodian for the Portage School Division for 23 years.

A Celebration of Cecil's life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:30 am at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel led by Wilma Shirriff. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Portage District Hospital and Home Care for the wonderful care he was given.
