We’re sorry to announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Carol Merrick. She was a loving kooshie, mother, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and a great friend to others. She was very kind, caring and compassionate. She was always willing to help others without hesitation. She was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also held great pride in all of her grandchildren.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Angus and Flora (nee Myran) Merrick, her beloved husband Ron Woods, sons Clark and Lenny Woods, sisters Evelynn, Myrtle, Grace, Dolly and baby sister Sandra, brothers Max, Frank, Louie, Mervin, Morris, Manus and baby brother Danny.
Carol is survived by her children Linus Woods, Luella (Glenn) Faichney and Chris (Farrah) Woods, brother Ralph (Florence) Merrick, sisters Joyce Olson, Winona (Jerry) Techentin, Shirlee Merrick and Memory (Wayne) Merrick, grandsons Tyler (Laura), Anthony, Zackery, Daniel, Flint and Kiowa, granddaughters Crystal-Lynn, Vanieshia, Cheyanne (Jesse), Taelynn, Antonia, Emily, Laura-Ann, Candace and Wiconi, great grandchildren Darius, Carmen, Hailie Dorrington, Bentley Dorrington and Paityn Ens, special friend Barbara Nickles as well as numerous Aunties, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins.
Growing up, Carol attended Long Plain School. She then received her education in Fort McMurray at Keyano College and graduated with a Bachelor of Business and Administration degree.
A private service will be held at Dauphin Myerion Cemetery on Thursday, April 30th, 2020. Carol’s friends and relatives are invited to park along Yellowquill Trail between 305 and the Dauphin Myerion Cemetery beginning at 12:45 pm to pay their respects as we bring Carol home. Please remain inside or directly beside your own vehicle.
