Carla Popoff

Our beautiful mother, daughter and sister Carla Popoff left us on May 4, 2018 at the age of 44 years.

Carla leaves to mourn her two daughters Hanna and Sara, parents Lawrence and Edwina Popoff, sister Andrea and brother Jonathan, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Carla Marie was born in Brandon on May 21, 1973, and moved to Portage with her family during the summer of 1975. Carla went to school at La Verendrye, and graduated from Portage Collegiate.  She attended Brandon University and the University of Manitoba, graduating with a Bachelor of Education degree. Carla taught in a Northern community for several years and then moved back to Portage, teaching for a short time at Long Plain School before transferring to the Portage School Division where she taught K-3 at Northern Breeze and Westroc Colony Schools.

Carla had an intense love for life and activities – always planning the next fun thing. She was a kind and accepting person who always chose happiness. We will miss her sense of humor and her unique way of lightening any mood. Carla enjoyed music, reading, and spending time with her family and beloved pets Josie and Shady.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel with Rev. Beth Kerr officiating.
