It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunty, and Friend, Bonnie Peters, who entered into the Spirit World on December 28, 2024 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 73 years.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Harvey Sr. (1996) and Laura (1999), sisters Gladys, Donna and Geraldine, brothers Harry, Lawrance, Pete, Mervin and Harvey Jr, and nephews Allen Peters and Nick Kequahtooway.

Bonnie leaves to mourn and is lovingly cherished by her children Darrin (Cheryl) Bernie (Ashley),and Kelly Meeches (son/nephew), 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great- great- grandchild, whom she shared a special bond with. She will also be missed by her sisters Linda (Eric), Doreen (Al), Peggy, Pauline and Judy, special friends Phyllis Myran and Barbara Longclaws, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bonnie was born in Portage la Prairie to Harvey Sr. and Laura Peters. She had a passion for cooking and baking, thrifting, and yard sales. She and her best friend Phyllis would often take off unannounced to the states – their children used to call them ‘Thelma & Louise’. She also liked playing Rez Radio Bingo and slots, reading, doing her crossword puzzles and playing games on her tablet. Bonnie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wake will begin at 4:00pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge, Feast & Ceremony will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Burial will follow at Long Plain Cemetery.
