Robert "Bob" Killam

We grieve the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, Bob Killam, on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the age of 68 years.

Bob was predeceased by his grandson Kurt James Pogue Killam and left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Marlene Killam of Portage; daughter Michele Killam (Guy Godin) of Portage la Prairie; sons Robert (Angie) Killam of Ste. Rose, Stanley (Michelle) Killam of Portage la Prairie and Mark (Lisa) Killam of Bagot; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Bob was born and raised in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He joined the Canadian Forces at the age of 17 and retired from the forces 26 years later. In 1964 Bob married Marlene. They traveled with the forces and came to settle in Portage la Prairie for the last 33 years. Bob enjoyed reading, gardening and his woodwork. He was loving and patient but could be very stubborn at times. Bob had a great sense of humor, being able to give and take a good joke. His family was very important to him and he will be missed tremendously.

Prayers followed by a time to celebrate Bob's life will take place on Monday evening, October 25, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Sask. Ave.E, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N OK8
