Blythe Bjornson

(nee Reid)

1929 - 2010

The delicate wings of a butterfly have carried a gentle soul to dance in heaven's meadows of heather. Our angel now walks hand in hand with loved ones there before her.

Peacefully, with many of her large family at her side, Blythe passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on January 1st, 2010.

Sharing wonderful memories of this unique and special woman are her children Laurie Bjornson (Shane Smith), Cal (Debbie), Kerry Noton, Dawn Bjornson (Al Armstrong), Marnie Bjornson (Simon Cheeseman), Dayle Bjornson and Erik (Lynne); 12 grandchildren and a new great granddaughter; her brother Ian Reid (Ruth), sisters-in-law Sylvia Bjornson, Marlys Carruthers (Ted) and Doreen Bjornson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends who share in her family's loss.

Blythe's sweet, gentle nature belied a strength and independence that pulled her and many others through adversity. Everyone around Blythe was touched in a positive way by her selflessness and generosity. She can look back not only on the footprints she left in the sand but more importantly those left in our lives and our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota, St. Vital, Winnipeg at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blythe's memory to Luther Village Camp, 560 Arlington St. Winnipeg MB R3G 1Z5, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared forby McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
