It is with great sadness that the family of Blaine TravisMcKinney announces his sudden and gentle passing onSaturday, June 16, 2012, at the age of 23,with his family at his side.
Blaine will be lovingly remembered by his common-law wifeKayla Walker-Hobson, children, Iverson, Samiyah, Memphis,Brooklyn and Harmony. Blaine will be also be remembered byhis Father, Keith (Alana), Mother, Tracey (Rob), brothers, Leif,Kyle, Sheldon and sisters, Taylor, Amanda, Kelly, Melania andforever remembered by Grandpa Allan (Karen) and GrandmaGrace (Murphy) and numerous Uncles, Aunties, cousins,nieces, nephews and friends.
Blaine is predeceased by Grandfathers Harry James & MaxMerrick ,Grandmothers Margaret McKinney and EstherMerrick, Uncles Dwain Walker, Eric Travis Merrick,Auntie Eileene McKinney, cousin Samantha McKinney
Blaine was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba but was raised in Whitefish Bay, Ontario with his brother Leif and sister Taylor. It wasin this place that he felt most at peace. Blaine and family hadplanned on moving to Whitefish Bay, so he can show his children the comfort he had lived. Blaine had a huge heart of gold,and he embraced the traditional values of the Anishinabe way. Blaine was so proud and honoured when he and his childrenreceived their Indian names. Blaine loved life and unconditionally loved his common-law wife and their children. Heloved and respected his Grandpa Allan and Kokum Grace.Blaine loved to be on the lake fishing,visiting family and friends.
Blaine, this is not a good-bye but a message to say``we'll see each other again``, have a safe journey son and maythe Creator welcome you home with open and loving arms.
Wake & Funeral
Wake services will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2012at Spirit Lodge in Long Plain First Nation
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 21, 2012at the Spirit Lodge, Long Plain First Nation at 11:00 am.
It was Blaine's wish that his final resting place be besidehis grandfather Max Merrick at the Merrick Cemetery
