Beverley Alexander

October 27, 1947 — August 29, 2013

Beverley Ann Alexander  (Klatt)

Bev was born October 27, 1947 in Gladstone, Manitoba, daughter to Ben and Joan Klatt, and passed away peacefully at the Portage District General Hospital on August 29, 2013 after a short courageous battle with cancer. She received her schooling at the Landing and in Westbourne, Manitoba. Bev loved the ‘art’ of teaching and started at a very young age in the parlor of the old farm house. Her official teaching career started in Shilo, then Grand Rapids, then back to Westbourne, Westroc Hutterite Colony and lastly at Northern Breeze Hutterite Colony. While in Grand Rapids, Bev met Richard (Dick) Alexander (who predeceased her in 1992). Together for 22 years they raised two lovely “children”. Son Todd (Julie) and her very precious grandchildren, Helen, Ben and Abby; daughter Marnee, who lives in a Group home in Southport, Manitoba. Also surviving Bev is her brother Murray his wife Sherry and their daughter Shayleen (Trevor) and their children Quynn and Zak and their son Nathan.

Bev wants to thank her family for always filling her life with joy, happiness and interesting diversions along the way! Her friends for always being there for her and her pets for loving her unconditionally.  Bev really enjoyed every bit of her life.

“Thanks to everyone, for the ride. It was incredible!”

A Graveside ceremony will be  held by the family on Monday the 2 nd of September, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Westbourne Cemetery followed with lunch at the Westbourne Longburn Community Hall. Bev had asked that everyone wear something colorful and bright which would pay her the highest tribute. Take care everyone.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make donations may do so in Bev’s name to P.A.W.S. (Portage Animal Welfare Society), Box 1426, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3N9.
