Bertrand “Bert” Paul Bazin

Peacefully, with his family at his side, Bert Bazin, beloved husband of Sandra, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Health Science Center at the age of 57 years.

Bert was predeceased by his infant son Christopher Paul Bazin and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Judy and Digby Hughes.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra Bazin of Portage la Prairie; daughters Joy (Derek) Bazin of Winnipeg and Alex (Joey) Patsack of Brandon and grandsons Paul Munro and Carter Patsack; parents Albert and Rolande Bazin of Notre Dame de Lourdes , MB; siblings Rheal (Joanne) Bazin of Coaldale, AB, Jean (Paula) Bazin of Treherne, MB, Daniel (Kristal) Bazin of Crystal City, MB and Normand (Michelle) Bazin of Windham, New Hampshire; brother-in-law Red (Liz) Hughes of Portage la Prairie; sister-in-law Lana Caswell of Kelowna, BC as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bert was born and raised in Notre Dame de Lourdes.  He attended Red River Culinary School in Winnipeg where he met Sandy.  They were married on April 25, 1980.  He had a career with Can Oat (Richardson) and retired in May, 2013.  Bert was a very patient and loving man who was a very good listener.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, spending time at the cottage, travelling, spending time with friends namely the Thursday night crew, golfing, gardening and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

In keeping with Bert’s wishes a private family service will take place. Friends and family are invited to a casual come and go reception in his honour on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the William Glesby Center.
