With profound sadness we announce the passing of Bernice Marion Johnson Darragh on Saturday August 13th at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd Darragh, her parents, Cyril and Doris Lovejoy, and her sisters Doris Hadley, Thelma Byron, Lesley Fraser, and her brother Douglas Lovejoy.

Bernice is lovingly and forever remembered by her daughters Dianne (Willard) Joudrey of Winnipeg and Gail (Bob) Patterson of Portage la Prairie, grandchildren Krista (Daniel) Girard, Sean (Dion) Joudrey, Daniel (Calliopi) Joudrey, Wade (Candace) Joudrey, Darryl (Jodi) Patterson and Deane (Matt) Harkness and 13 great grandchildren, her brother Russell (Nancy), Medicine Hat, AB, Joan Spencer, Vancouver, BC, Sheila (Joe) Klish, Winnipeg, and sister-in-law Betty Lovejoy, Vancouver, BC.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born in the St Vital area of Winnipeg and met and married Lloyd there.  They resided in Melfort, SK and Nipawin, SK but spent most of their married life in Portage la Prairie where Lloyd was the owner of Darragh’s Shoe Centre.  Bernice spent many enjoyable years working at Cuthbert Lyon Ltd. and Tezca Mercury Lincoln.  She moved to Winnipeg in 1992.

She was a beautiful, kind person and the Best Mom, Nana and GG that a family could have and our hearts are breaking at her passing.

A private family service will take place at Hillside Cemetery.

As expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in her memory to the Hemodialysis Unit at Seven Oaks Hospital c/o Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2V 3M3.
