Bella Herasimova

With family by her side, Bella Herasimova passed away on April 22, 2025 at her home in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age 86 years.

Bella was predeceased by her husband Mykola Herasimov. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Emma Vershynind, granddaughter Mariia Sukhovetska and great granddaughter Sarad Farissi, husband of granddaughter Abdessamad Farissi and his family Hajar Farissi and Salmane Farissi, along with many relatives and friends.

Bella was born and raised in Donetsk, Ukraine. She worked at the mine and in a furniture factory. Bella was married to Mykola Herasimov. She spent all her life in the Ukraine, but because of the war had to come to Canada, where her granddaughter was living for years. Bella loved and missed the Ukraine. She was able to meet her great granddaughter Sarah. Bella was a very religious Orthodox Christian, and she loved to cook crepes for all her family.

A funeral service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm, burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
