Barrie was a farmer all of his life, which he took great pride in. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved camping, reading and travelling. He also enjoyed spending time at Delta. Over the years he was involved with many community initiatives, while spending time with organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Whitemud Watershed and a director at Portage Mutual Insurance for 27 years. Barrie was kind, quiet and a true gentleman, he also had a great sense of humour and had a quick wit with others. He will be dearly missed by all those who got to know him over the years.
As per his wishes, Barrie’s life will be celebrated privately.
