With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Amy Jane Amyotte at the age of 41 years on June 7, 2010 at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

Amy is predeceased by beloved mother Mavis Helen Catcheway, mother/grandmother Flora Catcheway, brother in-law Arthur Gabriel. Left to cherish her memory, her daughters, Laura Amyotte (21 yrs. old), Jasmine Amyotte (15 yrs. old) and her baby girl Karlee Amyotte (12 yrs. old) together with their dad Ivan Amyotte of Rolling River Mb. Amy is survived by sisters/aunts, Violet Gabriel, Frances Roulette (Russell), Donna Gabriel, and brothers/uncles, Melferd Catcheway (Maxine) all of Portage La Prairie Mb. and Ronald Catcheway (Sylvia) of Dauphin Mb. and in-laws Kippen & Agnes Amyotte of Rolling River Mb. and sisters-in-law, Sarah Shannaccapo (Leslie), Lorraine Amyotte and brothers-in-law, Floyd Amyotte, Russell Amyotte (Angela) and Leo Amyotte, all of Rolling River Manitoba and Amy is also survived by numerous cousins and relatives too many to mention.

Amy was born on January 7, 1969 at the Women's Pavilion in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was traditionally adopted at birth by her grandparents Rev. Gilbert Catcheway and his late wife Flora Catcheway; Amy graduated from the Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School in Brandon Manitoba. Amy advanced her education and completed a 3 yr. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Brandon Manitoba and acquired a Business Accountancy Certificate at the Assiniboine Community College in Brandon Manitoba and a Health Care Aid Certificate at the Red River Community College in Southport, Manitoba. Amy held various positions and her most recent employment was with the Food Development Center and the Douglas Campbell Lodge of Portage La Prairie.

Amy will always be remembered by her smile and laughter. Amy was very happy and looking forward to having her very first Grandchild. Amy had many friends and had a Special Friend, Artenia Crozier (Jim); Amy had great respect for her Grandpa whom she called Dad and helped on many occasions with the local church operated by the Gilbert Catcheway Ministries situated on Sask. Ave. E in Portage La Prairie. Amy belonged to the WFNB-Portage Organization, Gilbert Catcheway Ministries and The Day of Pentecost Ministry of all Nations Organization.

The Memorial Service and Celebration of Amy's Life will be held on June 11, 2010 at the Dakota Palace, Dakota Tipi First Nation starting at 6:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow on Saturday, June 12, 2010 beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Gilbert Catcheway officiating. Interment will follow and Amy will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

All of Amy's friends and relatives are considered as Honourary Pallbearers. The Pallbearers will be Sandy Gabriel, Marty Gabriel, Reggie Gabriel, Rad Roulette, Claren Shannacappo and Terrell Amyotte.
