It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Mousseau, age 74, of Long Plains First Nation in Manitoba, Canada, on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Albert was predeceased by his beloved son Larry Peters; parents Norman and Vera Mousseau; Traditional Adopted parents, brother Larry Mousseau, sisters Irene Francis, Lillian Mousseau, Doreen Beauchamp and Traditional Adopted brother Russell Bill Daniels. Albert transferred to Long Plain First Nation when he was just a young boy and was raised by his Traditional adopted parents.Albert leaves to mourn his beloved partner of 57 years Maryjane"Gladys" Peters, children Wayne, Norman (Sharon), Albert (Joyce), Ambroise (Charlotte), Norma (Richard) of Winnipeg, and Victor (Sandra); brother Wilford "Billy" Mousseau and sister Madeline Hatch both of Winnipeg; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Albert worked most of his life as a Farm Laborer. He had a passion for horses. He loved to go hunting and being in the outdoors. Albert enjoyed spending time with his only daughter, playing games with her as a child to make her giggle and laugh. She was the joy of his life. He also enjoyed visiting his grandchildren, especially his daughter's children. After retiring, Albert enjoyed doing yard work and keeping his yard clean and meticulously groomed.
A Traditional Wake will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Long Plain Spirit Lodge at 4:00 pm. Traditional Service and feast will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 beginning at noon. Interment will be in the Yellowquill Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Joey Peters, Kevin Perswain, Kyle Peters, Ian Perswain, Bradley Peters and David Peters. The honourary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
