Albert Henry Caister

At home, with his family by his side, Albert Henry Caister passed away peacefully on April 14, 2014 at the age 79. Husband, Dad and Poppa, you will always be in our hearts.

Left to treasure his memory is his wife of 57 years Marian, daughters Lesley (Ian) Smith, Shelley (Guy) Hebert and son Brent. Also his two precious grandchildren: Amanda (Josh) Lamontagne and Riley (Melissa) Hebert; brother Les (Donna), brother-in-law Boris Zurkan, sisters-in-law Bea, Irene and many special nieces and nephews.

Albert was predeceased by his parents Joe and Mary, sister Audrey Zurkan, brothers Cecil and wife Ruth, Leonard, Edwin and wife Estelle and Allen.

Dad will always be remembered for his great "Caister" sense of humour and a hard working family man. There was no job he wouldn't tackle.

If we had to name one thing Dad loved to do, it would be driving. Whether for work, a family vacation or just taking off for a Sunday, he loved to drive.  For the last 15 years, Bandit (his dog) was his trusty sidekick. Either riding shotgun or leading Dad down the street for their daily walks - they were inseparable.

Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Albert's wishes there will be a reception at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Anglican Church Hall in Portage la Prairie.

Should friends so desire donations may be made in Albert's memory to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 0K8 or Portage Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Box 1426, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3N9
